Running a mission

A snow removal mission follows the standard AVOPSIM flow: assign, drive, track, score. See Running a training session for the general session checklist.

1. The instructor sets season, precipitation, visibility and surface contamination, plus any aircraft or vehicle traffic.
2. Operators drive the modeled winter units with the specialist controls of each vehicle: blade, broom and blower.
3. Runway and taxiway lighting, signage and hold points are those of your airport, so route discipline is trained at the same time.
4. Missions score coverage, clearance from lights and signs, hold point compliance and coordination with other units.

After the mission

Results are recorded in the Examiner Console. Review the violation log with the trainee and use scenario replay to repeat any situation that went wrong.
