Running a mission
A passenger boarding bridge mission follows the standard AVOPSIM flow: assign, drive, track, score. See Running a training session for the general session checklist.
- The instructor selects the gate, the aircraft type and door, and the conditions: day, night, rain or wind.
- The operator works from a modeled bridge console on a desk station, driving station or a console mock-up in a full cab.
- Cab position, height, extension and slew are controlled as on the real bridge, with the aircraft door as the target.
- The mission flags contact, misalignment, missed checks and excessive approach speed, and records the result.
After the mission
Results are recorded in the Examiner Console. Review the violation log with the trainee and use scenario replay to repeat any situation that went wrong.
